Domains
Domains (Domain names) are the locations of the world wide web.
Therefore, in real estate terms, they are the lots upon which “homes”(whether “static homepages” or dynamic online applications) can be built.
The term “site” sometimes causes confusion, because “sites” have traditionally considered to be locations, but today “websites” are generally considered to be the code and/or applications available at a particular domain (and/or at a specific URL).
Note that a domain name is actually also a type of content — insofar as domain names are used to locate information on the web. Typically, domain names describe the type of information located at the domain (for example, information about “hotels“, “cars“, “movies“, etc.).
